If you have an itchy dog, or one that has dry skin, a solution that will work great is to provide your pet with dog enzymes. We always get asked the question, why enzymes and how do they help? So heres the answer because a dogs origins tied to wild animals, there digestive systems are designed to digest raw meats and foods found in the wild. As a result many of them, to include the smaller breeds, have a difficult time absorbing all of the nutrients, minerals, and vitamins that is in the food we provide them.
Essentially the food we give them is processed and contains many preventatives and dyes. As a result many their digestive systems have a hard time absorbing the needed nutrients. The results are often dog itchy skin, dry skin, hot spots, allergies, and poor quality coat. This is because the condition of a dogs fur, or coat, is typically the first indicator of a poor diet or poor overall health.
So how do pet enzymes help? They provide a catalyst, or boost if you will, to their ability to digest food resulting in more absorption of the nutrients they need. In fact many people also take enzymes or probiotics to help with the same digestion problems.
Before I close out, remember that you must provide your dog with a high quality dog food and supplements. If you are using a low end pet food, chances are that your pets diet simply does not contain enough minerals and supplements. So stay away from the no-name dog foods and be sure to read the label carefully!
